EdCIL - Indian Education Fair 2011 poised to open in Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan student population, especially those who are looking for the best higher educational opportunities, would be treated with a splendid event in May 2011. The fair organized by the Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL) is supported and duly endorsed by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka with the aim of supporting both Sri Lankan students with the much needed assistance for their higher educational opportunities in India and also to encourage Education Institutes in India to carryout their operations in Sri Lanka.

As 'Professional Exhibition Organizers', Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services [LECS], a 'Presidential Award Winning Company', reaches another landmark this year with the event 'EdCIL - Indian Education Fair 2011' opened for the public from May 13 to 15 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre at BMICH in Colombo. EdCIL Education Fair would be a big event to be organized as a 'single country show' with a large participation of direct representatives from India, and furthermore a continuation of a second-leg scheduled in Jaffna for May 17 and 18.

With a strong resource base and a professionally competent and dedicated workforce offering consultancy services in all areas of education and human resource development in India, and beyond national boundaries with special focus on developing countries of Asia and Africa, EdCIL was conceived and incorporated as a Public Sector enterprise by the Government of India in 1981.

EdCIL directly links the Sri Lankan student with the vast opportunities available in the Indian educational sector with the participation of 50 representatives from accredited institutes in India. With the support, encouragement and endorsement of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, EdCIL Education Fair 2011 gains momentum as the first ever collective effort made in Sri Lanka to mark the presence of the Higher Education Institutes in India.

For years, India continued to be a popular destination for the Sri Lankan student seeking higher education due to various reasons such as the price factor, as the closest neighbour with less travel expenses, and more importantly the quality of education available which is the main concern of any parent or student. Providing the best solution for all these concerns of parents and students EdCIL Education Fair 2011 showcases high quality institutes recognized by the Government of India focusing on the study of medicine, arts and language, journalism, social work, business, commerce, planning, architecture, engineering and other specialized studies.
