Defending league champs St. Peter's experienced their first ever defeat in almost two years when Trinity tarnished their opponent's illustrious run with an morale boosting 34-10 win ahead of the 67th Bradby Shield encounter.

The match was played amidst a keen spectatorship at St. Peter's ground in Bambalapitiya where Trinity made an explosive start to run off with two tries within 10 minutes from the start. Trinity led by 12-10 at half time with a try and a converted try against the Peterites' two unconverted tries.
