Govt. blasts UN chief

The government has lashed out at UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for submitting, what it calls a deeply-flawed report of the UN panel on Sri Lanka, both to the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the President of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

 
3 killed, dozens injured as train crashes into Inter-city express

At least three people, including a foreign national, were killed and around 25 injured when a train crashed into the observation carriage of the Kandy-bound Inter-city train. The accident occurred in Alawwa last evening.
