The University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka chairman visit MSU

The University Grant Commission of Sri Lanka chairman, Prof. S V D G Samaranayake has recently visited Management & Science University (MSU) main campus in Malaysia in order to understand and support the quality planning and implementation done at MSU.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is the apex body of the University System in Sri Lanka. The functions of the UGC are; planning and coordination of university education, allocation of funds to Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), maintenance of academic standards, regulation of the administration of HEIs and regulation of admission of students to HEIs.

During visit, among others, discussed on cross border higher education, quality assurance and recognition issues particularly in relation to collaborative arrangements between MSU and UGC.
At the end of the visit through campus tour, Prof. S V D G Samaranayake has expressed his admiration towards the academic and facilities level that the university has achieved.

As one of Malaysia's top universities, MSU has received many recognitions from the Malaysian and international independent bodies. It is rated as an "Excellent University" by the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia through a rating system done on all Malaysian universities. MSU is ranked one of top private universities in the world through an accreditation exercise done by the Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC), UK. Its also received accreditation from The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST 21), Japan.

Students from Sri Lanka will now have the opportunity to savour MSU's quality education through its Colombo Campus.
