Three bodies found hanging from tree

A jilted lover is alleged to have killed his under-aged lover and her younger sister before taking his own life in a bizarre tragedy at a tiny village in Eppawella in the Anuradhapura District, police said yesterday.
They said the three were found dangling from a tree in a wooded area at Kadigawa several miles away from the main Eppawella town.

The two girls who were not named were aged 15 and 17 respectively, while the suspect was aged 27, police said. They said the incident had taken place sometime before dusk on Friday, and the bodies were found early last morning. The Eppawella police are investigating the incident.
