Mobitel and T-Navi offer traffic navigation system

Mobitel has partnered with T-Navi (Private) Ltd to offer the latest traffic navigation solution to travellers making their lives easier, less stressful and more productive. The T-Navi solution is available in three formats – as a Mobile Phone Application for Smartphones, a Personal Navigation Device (PND) to be fitted in motor vehicles and as a Software SD Card for 2DIN Devices, according to a Mobitel statement.

The features of the T-Navi system include - Route Guidance and Maps – offering turn-by-turn directions to your destination, Live Traffic Updates – offering live updates on traffic jams or road congestion, Multilingual Voice Guidance – offering clear and easy to understand voice guidance to your destination in English as well as in Sinhala and Tamil, Auto Map Updates – a feature where the T-Navi map updates itself with new roads or new names of roads as and when they become available, Junctions View - informing drivers which lane to be in and to make complex lane changes simple and easy, Route According to time – providing the recommended route to a destination based on traffic conditions, 3D moving maps and Places of interest.

Janaka Jayalath Senior GM, Corporate Planning and Marketing said, “… we believe there is tremendous value for the customer in the T-Navi solution as it offers a more personalized navigation experience with features such as traffic updates and dynamic places of interests that is tailored to your daily travel needs.”

The T-Navi Smartphone App works on the IOS (Apple OS), WM (Windows Mobile), Android and Symbian operating systems. The License Key for the full version comes as a scratch card and can be purchased from any Mobitel outlet, the company said.

The Personal Navigation Device (PND) that can be fitted in a motor vehicle consists of a display screen of approximately five inches, big enough for easy navigation, but small enough to be mounted on to the dashboard. It also offers all the features included in the Mobile Application.
