Tea Colour Sorter machines from Arpico, plans also for similar machines for grains

Richard Peiris & Co (Arpico) has introduced Tea Colour Sorter machines to boost the tea sector, and also plans to market colour sorter machines for rice, coffee, cereals and other types of grains.
The Tea Colour Sorter is manufactured by” Anuhui Shongke Optic Colour Sorter Company” , one of the top five ranked companies in China and it’s state of the art technology will no doubt ensure efficient tea sorting process improving quality standards securing the demand for Sri Lankan tea in the International market, the company said.

A majority of the machines presently used locally were very costly colour sorter machines, which were either imported from Japan or Korea. Richard Peiris & Co with the introduction of its “Tea Colour Sorter” "AMD" machines manufactured in China gives an opportunity for the tea manufacturers to purchase a colour sorters at an affordable price, it said.

Although, the manufacturing and sale of “ Colour Sorter “ machines were monopolized by countries like Japan and Korea earlier, China has now succeeded in securing the majority market share with equal or better in technology at a very competitive price compared to Japanese or Korean Machines
“As Sri Lanka’s number one estate management company, Richard Peiris Co with 28 tea factories, this state of the art Chinese ‘Colour Sorter machines was our selection after carrying out a number of extensive experiments and practices, where we observed the quality standards of our tea processed by these colour sorters,” it said.
