R A Anura Rohana displayed his experience on the Indian and Asian Tour by successfully winning the Sri Lanka Open Golf Championship 2011 for the 4th consecutive year. Anura Rohana seems to be chasing the 7 wins achieved by K Nandasena Perera and is now close enough to better Nandasena as Rohana has many more years of Golf left in him.

Anura Rohana birdied the 18th in vast contrast to day 3 where his ball landed on a coconut tree but in the last round finished with a flourish holing a 15 ft. putt to return the best card of the day, on even par and clinch the championship for the 6th time.
K Prabagaran from Nuwara Eliya Golf Club who turned Pro in 2010 proved his worth finishing with a 4 round total of 280, 4 under par in second place. 1 stroke further behind in 3rd place was Mithun Perera, the 8th ranked player in the 2011 Indian Tour. The Sri Lankan Professionals established their credentials by being clear of the rest of the field where Tissa Chandradasa another Pro 10 strokes behind Mithun in 4th place.
The best of the rest were two Sri Lanka Golf Union National Squad players Vijitha Bandara from Victoria Golf & Country Resort and N Thangaraja from the RCGC, who were in joint 5th place on 294, 10 over par for the 4 rounds. A former winner of the Open M Amarapadma finished in 9th place tied with B G Lalith Kumar the other Pro golfer who played on the Indian Tour in 2011. 7-time winner Nandasena Perera finished in 19th place despite ageing and being physically challenged. The seasoned veteran maintaining tremendous golfing ability G Harrison finished in 12th place ahead of several promising golfers. The youngest in the field Sachin de Silva finished a creditable 18th place, ahead of Nandasena and the RCGC Club Pro Jehan de Saram.

The RCGC course was immaculately turned out with tight flag placements which were proved because of the fact that the best card returned was an even par 71 by the winner and defending champion, Anura Rohana.
