Harsha 231 as Chilaw Marians record first inning win

Chilaw Marians right hand batsman Harsha Cooray slammed a career best knock of 231 helping his side record a comfortable first inning win over Bloomfield in the Premier Tier ‘A’ cricket encounter concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Sachith Pathirana was on fire at Braybrooke Place in the match between Moors SC and Ragama CC. Sachith snubbed the selectors when he cracked a quick fire 117 in only 93 runs helping Ragama CC make a formidable score of 408 for 9 declared.

Sachithra Serasinghe too made a career best knock of 154 as he along with Isuru Udana who made an unbeaten 100 helped Tamil Union resuming from their overnight score of 350 for 6 make 420 for 6 declared against Badureliya CC.

Roshen Silva hammered a 110 in the match between Colts and NCC played at the Colts ground.

SSC were strongly placed on day one with the score on 137 for 2 but lost their remaining eight wickets for just 62 runs. This was in reply Lankan CC’s score of 118. Lankan CC batting the second fared better as they ended day two on 202 for 3.

Panadura SC registered an easy first inning win over Police in their Premier Tier B ended at Panadura yesterday.

A knock of 78 by Sanath de Silva helped CCC take a first inning lead over Saracens SC in the match played at the CCC ground. Saracens SC taking first lease of the wicket made 169.

Navy too took a slender first lead over Kurunegala YCC in the match played at Welisara. Navy after making 188 on day one restricted Kurunegala YCC resuming on their overnight score of 96 for 6 to 185.

Air Force resuming on their overnight score of six for no loss ended day two on 268 for 9 to Sri Lanka Ports Authority score of 379 in the match played at Rifle Green.
