The 1st Australian Government-owned University in Sri Lanka – University of Ballarat (UB) - has launched its own state-of-the-art Colombo Campus at 128, R.A.De Mel Mawatha Colombo 3.
The Campus Director Mr. Bajwa said there are two unique things about the Colombo Campus. The first is that it is in a unique neighbourhood with quick meal restaurants like Queens, the Australian-owned Cricket Club Café, slow food restaurants like the Gallery Café, the Fashion Bug Department Store, Lassana Flora florists and the famous Tea Cup Café not to mention the Triumph outlet. The 140 year old University of Ballarat is a five-star rated university. In Sri Lanka, It will launch its modern MBA degree on the 18th of March 2012 with a outstanding faculty comprising the best professionals in Sri Lanka. MBA Course details:
The programme has a combination (total 12 subjects) of core subjects and electives in the areas of Marketing, Management, Economics and Accounting, and offers specializations in the fields of Finance, Marketing and HR. Optional dissertation is available.

All lecturers teaching in the Sri Lanka Campus of University of Ballarat MBA programme are appointed and assessed by the Parent University in Australia. Modern Campus Facilities:
 The management at Ballarat Campus believes that students should be encouraged to maintain a balance in academic and family life with an emphasis on good health. Transfer to Australian Campus:
Students are encouraged to complete their courses in Sri Lanka, but those desirous of seeking transfers to the Australian Campus can do so. Students can transfer 100% credits from the completed courses in Sri Lanka to the Australian Campus as and when they feel they are ready to pursue their further education in Australia. However, the Australian University fees will apply for studies in Australia.

Special Exemptions:
CIMA and CIM graduates will, as per University procedures, permitted four credit exemptions in the course.
