Petes home for lunch at Bambalapitiya

St Peter’s were home for lunch when they recorded an easy nine wicket win over Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Bambalapitiya yesterday. This was the fourth win for the season for St. Peters.The second days play saw Joseph Vaz resuming their second innings from their overnight score of 64 for 6 lasting only just over an hour and being bowled out for 134.

This left the Peterites a simple target of 43 runs for victory which they needed just 4.5 overs.
Wesley fought back to come out on top on day two against St Sebastian’s in their drawn match concluded at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa. Wesley was guided by the ninth wicket pair of Migara Wickramasinghe and Basith Muzammil who put on a 138 runs stand helping Wesley recover from their overnight score of 104 for 8 to 249 in reply to the Sebs score of 201.

Nalanda batted the whole of day two and succeeded in holding S. Thomas’ to a draw in the match concluded at Mt Lavinia. Nalanda after being bundled out for 113 in the first inning put in stiff resistance the second time as they made a formidable score of 382 thanks to a knock of 132 by Woshantha Silva and a half ton by Ishan Rangana.Pasindu Madushan’s 100 wicket haul for the season was the highlight of the drawn inter-school match between Ananda and St Joseph’s concluded at Darley Road yesterday. The Ananda skipper reached the milestone in his 18th match as he ended with 101 wickets with the five wickets he took in the match.
