Asia Tea Packaging Ltd launches own ‘Tannin’ brand

Asia Tea Packaging Ltd (ATP), a subsidiary of the Asia Capital Group, has launched its own tea brand – Tannin. In an announcement, it said Tannin will be 100% pure Ceylon Tea and available locally as well for in international markets. ATP will initially concentrate on CIS countries, the Middle East and the Far East. The Tannin brand will see four ranges of tea beng introduced; Black Tea, Fruit, Herbal and Organic, the company added.

The fruit flavoured teas to be introduced will be popular local choices such as Lemon, Pineapple, Strawberry, Mint and Earl Grey while the herbal range will encompass Nelli, Pol Pala, Ranawara, Wel Penera, Beli and Cinnamon. Based on demand the company also has plans to introduce several new flavours including Vanilla, Peach and Mango and could even go in for unusual flavours such as Rum and Chocolate.

Speaking at the launch, Damitha Rathnayake ATP’s Tea Manager said the creation of a brand was a remarkable achievement since it is just after 18 months of operations of the company. The company also plans to feature Tannin at upcoming food fairs such as Sial, Anuga FoodTec, the Moscow Food Fair and the Dubai Food Fair, in order to promote the brand globally.
