Canopy Adventures soon in Sri Lanka

Canopy Adventures is launching a new adventure experience in which Sri Lankans from all walks of life will soon experience what hitherto was the bastion of only wildlife documentary makers. The mastermind behind the company is Rocky Deen, who already has a successful operation in the Kao Yai Da National Rain Forrest in Thailand.

"For Rocky, experiencing the canopy of rain forest is more than just an adrenalin rush, it is about becoming one with nature. It is about experiencing our eco systems like we have never done before. This spiritual approach to adventure promises to add a dimension to Sri Lanka eco-tourism that will only enrich the experience of local and international tourists," a statement from the company said. Canopy Tourism is extremely popular with the European and Russian market, and with direct flights to Sri Lanka, Canopy Adventures is set to boost our flourishing tourist trade.

"With Canopy Adventures, you don't need any prior experience with cabling. They provide training, state of the art equipment that has been tested and certified, expertly designed and constructed platforms that allow you to take in the surroundings between each cable run, and the best of all, a quick training cable run that makes you comfortable and relaxed and allows you to enjoy the adventure to the fullest," the statement added.

In Sri Lanka Canopy Adventures has been launched by entrepreneur Buddhika Dodanwela, who was recently in Thailand with Rocky testing out the canopy cables himself, and testifies to its calming thrills.
Geographically, potential locations have been identified in Ginigathhene, Nuwara Eliya and Ella. Mr Dodanwela said that Canopy Adventures will be one of the key attractions in a country that is quickly moving beyond sun and sand tourism.
