Funday Times - A Poem for the week

A dream

By Savindu Edirisinghe, S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia

One day I went to
fairyland,
To see the fairy queen,
She looked so beautiful,
On a throne serene.

All the little fairies,
Were delighted to see me,
They danced and sang in glee,
And invited me for tea.

The queen who was so kind,
Gave me a golden ring,
She said it was a magic ring,
Good luck it would bring.

Alas! I lost this precious ring,
Before I was back home again,
I cried and even screamed,
As my search was all in vain.

Then I heard my mother say,
Why did you cry and scream
I only then realized,
It was a wonderful dream.
