Tourism authorities obtain approval for ICC T20 jurnos
By Sunimalee DiasView(s):Sri Lanka Tourism authorities have obtained approval to go ahead with the promotional campaign and provision of facilities for touring journalists during the upcoming World ICC T20 tournament in September.Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Managing Director Rumy Jaufer told the Sunday Times said they were given the nod to sign the agreement with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Economic Development Ministry had given its concurrence while cabinet approval was obtained for the tournament by the Sports Ministry, he said.In this respect, he said the ICC Finance Committee had studied the MoU to be signed with the Sri Lanka Tourism authorities that would be duly signed next week.
The Bureau is expected to provide facilities for visiting journalists including media-related facilities and tours around the country for which the ICC would provide a gamut of promotions prior to and throughout the tournament, he said.
