Piramal Glass Ceylon inaugurates Rs 25 mln effluent treatment plant

Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC (PGC) recently inaugurated its new high capacity Effluent Treatment Plant (ET) at the Horana factory under the patronage of P. Kumaran, Deputy High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka, and Parliamentarian Vidura Wikramanayake.
Others present were Sanjay Tiwari, CEO and Managing Director of Piramal Glass Ceylon, directors – Ranjith Fernando and Dr Bandula Perera among others.

The ETP plant ensures the preservation of water by recycling, whilst making sure that the water let out to the environment does not harm the environment and the surrounding community. The company said in a media statement that it has spent over Rs 25 million on this project.  Piramal Glass annually consumes almost 20,000 tons of broken glass collected from all parts of the country at a cost of over Rs 100 million.
