Freedom of creativity

View(s): ‘Reflections’, a photographic exhibition by the May 2011 batch of the Photographic Society of Sri Lanka was held recently at the Lionel Wendt. The exhibition that encased the collective efforts of the graduates to portray their creative visions as amateur photographers was themed under a wide variety of subjects, as captured by the presenters.
For the photographers themselves, as they take up their position of anonymity behind the camera, this is an escape from their everyday life and worries and they revel in their freedom of creativity. The range of panoramic landscapes, wildlife, portraits, historic locations and everyday moments capture the beauty that they see in the world and the harsh reality of it as well.
