View(s):Spectrum Institute of Science and Technology was established in 2002 with the idea of providing cutting edge technology training to Sri Lankan youth. Spectrum takes pride in being the first private institute to introduce Undergraduate courses in Bio Informatics and Biotechnology.
Today Spectrum has a 10 year credibility of being in the education sector and has inspired hundreds of students to reach out to their dream careers. Currently Spectrum is a partner of one of India’s most prestigious State Universities – The University of Mysore.
Spectrum facilitates Sri Lankan students and foreign students residing in Sri Lanka to follow an internal degree program of the University of Mysore without going to India. The unique feature of these UoM degree programs are that they are all combined degrees where the student gets to learn three different yet related subjects for his/her major.
The campus is conveniently located on Galle Road, Bambalapitiya and currently started the 12th batch of students. Students follow all laboratory practicals at the laboratory located on campus, and are also exposed to industrial training with leading science and research organizations. Our past students have successfully gone to complete their Masters, Doctorates as well as Post-Doctorate studies both, in local as well as recognized foreign universities. Our alumni are also currently employed as lecturers and researchers in the science as well as health-care sectors.
Spectrum believes in treating each student with individual care and takes pride in capacity building and professional development. In this effort many student volunteer organizations function within the campus where the ideal platform is created for the students to test their abilities in project management, community service and their subject related assignments. Hence we have success stories of many students who participate in global conferences, summits and even those who acquire prestigious scholarships for their masters because of the exposure and extracurricular activities they perform while studying.
Spectrum has now made it possible for professionals and students seeking to enrol in short courses to experience the delights of scientific research through our Diploma in Laboratory Technology which would lead the way to other advanced courses in molecular biology.
All in all Spectrum is an Institute that caters to quality education and complete molding of an active citizen who would succeed in his/her chosen career.
