Hartland City: luxury facility in Meegoda
View(s):‘Hartlands City’, a commercial complex comprising a reception hall cum restaurant and shopping arcade in the picturesque surroundings of Meegoda, a short distance off Homagama.
‘Hartlands City’, which was declared open last month is one of the latest attractions in the area. The fully air conditioned reception and banquette hall, which could accommodate more than 400 guests could either be used as one single hall or as two different halls for functions around 175 guests each. The hall is divided by a foldable sound proof partition. In addition the complex comprises a smaller hall with seating capacity for around 50 people that can either be used for small seminars, business meetings or private parties.
The entrance to the banquette hall is picturesque and artistically designed. The garden area comprises a large lawn, and, landscaped with flora and fauna. It has a car park for approximately 75 vehicles with separate entrances to both halls from the car park. The restaurant has its modernized, state of the art kitchen and bakery. Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner both from buffet & ala carte menu. Cooks specialize in Sri Lankan, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Western dishes. Part of the restaurant serves Hoppers and Koththu.
The bakery section serves all sorts of short eats, breads, buns, sweets and cakes. It also undertakes orders for birth day cakes. The kitchen is equipped with modern amenities for staff to serve weddings and other functions professionally. Managing Director, of ‘Hartlands City’ Niluka Jayasuriya told that he believes that he has a completed a long felt need of the people in the area as they lacked a proper reception hall where they could have weddings and other functions.
‘This facility will minimize the need for the people to travel to other towns’, he added. He said that his family has been involved in the hotel trade in Sri Lanka and Maldives and that experience too had helped him to put up this facility.
Mr. Jayasuriya said that the restaurant would also be useful for the travellers heading towards upcountry and returning as it is only a five minutes drive from the Godagama junction towards Meegoda.
