Sri Lanka’s first ever premier league is set to commence on August 10, 2012, bringing in players from several
cricket-playing nations, while also showcasing some of the best talents from the Sri Lankan national team, as well as Sri Lanka’s domestic league.
Representing the SLPL is this cute and cuddly mascot, Silva the Lion, which was recently revealed to Sri Lanka’s cricket-loving public. Using Sri Lanka’s iconic animal, the lion, the SLPL promotes everything our Country stands for – from stature and loyalty, to strength and unity.
Silva will be present at all SLPL matches, in Colombo and Kandy, giving kids and cricket enthusiasts a chance to pose with him, and cheer on Sri Lanka’s premier cricketing tournament.
