Sri Lanka Military Corps and Singapore General Hospital collaborate on trauma management
View(s):SingHealth (the Singapore General Hospital) and Delmege – Healthcare Division jointly held a workshop in Sri Lanka focusing on trauma management for the Sri Lankan armed forces. The main workshop was held in late July and coordinated by Major General Dr. Sanjeeva Munasinghe – Army Hospital and Medical Advisor to Commander of the Army – Sri Lanka Army along with Professor Tay Boon Keng, Chairman Medical Board – International, SingHealth who delivered the welcome address and introduction to the programme respectively.
The forum was organized by Delmege Forsyth & Co. Ltd – Healthcare Division, the company said. Major General Dr. Sanjeeva Munasinghe said this is a very rare opportunity to capture all the medical staff within the Sri Lankan armed forces in one session and said it was a great opportunity to have all stakeholders within the medical system of the military involved to understand the process of the management of trauma.
“It has been a longstanding need to help personnel of the armed forces who have been affected by the war to live normal lives through rehabilitation. Trauma management is a collaborative effort which has different functionalities in handling a patient’s physical and mental wellbeing. One of the objectives of the programme is to create better awareness on trauma management within the medical profession and knowledge-sharing, helping those affected to be better prepared for disaster management,” the Delmege media release said.
