Evans Cooray passes away in London
View(s):Evans Cooray who served as Media Secretary to the late President Ranasinghe Premadasa, passed away in London last Thursday. Mr. Cooray had been residing in London for several years. He was 76.
He worked as a journalist in several publications in the country, before moving to the Information Department. After his acquaintance with the late President Premadasa, when he was Prime Minister, and became his Media Secretary when the late President Premadasa was elected to the post in 1989, and served in the post till 1993 when the former President was killed in a bomb attack.The late Mr Cooray’s last rites were held in London.
