Gymkhana HC defeated Ananda SC by one goal to nil in the opening fixture of the Andriesz Shield hockey championship at the Colombo Campus ground recently. At the short whistle the winning team led by one goal to nil. The scorer for Gymkhana was left extreme Sumith Jayasena in the 12th minute of the first half of the game. The game was controlled by M. Vitharana, S. Kumar and Damith Jayasena.

CH and FC ‘A’ 3-0 win over Ananda SC
CH and FC ‘A’ posted a 3-0 win over Ananda SC in an Andriesz Shield hockey fixture at the Colombo Campus ground recently. At half time the tally was 1-0 in favour of CH and FC ‘A’. V. Rajamohan netted the opener in the 14th minute and after the change of ends, the second goal was scored in the 42nd minute by D, Weerasinghe, while the third was off the stick of S.B. Dissanayaka in the 48th minute.
The game was controlled by Maithree Vithana and Suresh Kumar, while the third official was D. Jayasena.
