Kantar Group UK CEO Eric Salama visiting Colombo this week said its media and communications company was faced with challenges in Sri Lanka similar to those globally.

The digital technology in the media sphere was an issue grappled by most clients, he said at a media and senior business leaders gathering on Tuesday. The Kantar Group UK has ownership of the Lanka Market Research Bureau (LMRB) in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Salama observed that how they engage with consumers in this regard and deal with the trade in addition to the extremely modern requirements of the day were challenges faced both globally and in Sri Lanka. A company working with 30,000 people globally it looks to innovate and provide solutions continuously, he said.

The group’s commitment in Sri Lanka is a “big one” through its ownership of LMRB. Kantar is the information, insight and consulting division of WPP, the world’s largest communication services group engaged in providing insight and consultancy services around the world covering innovation and new production development to optimization of marketing spend and measurement of media audiences.
