Sorry no LG awards

The Sunday Times is sorry to tell its readers that it decided not to cover the LG World Cricket Awards that were held at the Waters Edge Hotel yesterday.
Though the organisers, the International Cricket Council (ICC), extended an invitation to the newspaper, gave a prior warning that they would not be able to be a part of the proceedings as such, but would be confined to room at the venue and watch what was going on at the main hall on a TV monitor. At the same time only Getty Images had been provided with the rights to take pictures of the main event.
So as we felt that we would not be able to provide our readers with an authentic version of the LG awards, we declined to participate at the event.
