St. Anthony’s grabs close win over Thurstan
The Antonians, coming out for the first time, scored a fairly close first innings win over Thurstan at Katugastota yesterday.
Nimesha Gunasinghe, put a lean patch behind him, to score an entertaining century that propelled his team to a reasonable total.
However half centuries from Ravindu Lakshan and Kavindu Kulasekera ensured that the Thurstanites made a strong reply. But it was Gunasinghe once again who led the Antonian effort in the field.
Viraj Deepal’s pleasing 46 was the high-point of the Antonian reply.
