Education crisis deepens as student leader is arrested

As the university and education crisis intensifies, police arrested Inter University Students' Federation (IUSF) Convenor Sanjeewa Bandara who had been in the forefront of protest campaigns. The student leader was travelling in a bus when he was dragged out by three police officers in civvies and hauled into a waiting police van. The handcuffed Bandara was later produced in court and remanded for allegedly violating court orders regarding the satyagraha and vandalism. Pic by Indika Handuwela.
