Merc Rugby 7s in November
View(s):The Dialog-Mercantile Rugby Sevens 2012 will be held on November 23, 24 and 25 at the Havelock Park in Colombo.
The 42nd edition of famed Mercantile Sevens is conducted by Mercantile Rugby Football Association (MRFA) under the presidency of Wasantha Ramanayake.
Entries for the tournament will close on November 15 at 3.00pm and the draw for groupings will be held on November 20 at 6.00pm at the Havelock Sports Club.
Last Year, MAS Holdings retained the Cup championship beating debutants, Nation Lanka Finance 20-14.
Dialog won the playoff for the third place, beating John Keells ‘A’ by a thrilling 12-10 while Access Group clinched the Plate beating Commercial Bank 24-7. Entrust won the Bowl title beating John Keells ‘B’ comfortably by 22-7 while Hemas Group won the Shield beating Suntel by 12-7.
Entries for this year’s tournament are available with Shanaka Fernando, General Secretary, MRFA, c/o Metropolitan Computers, 85, Braybrooke Place Colombo 2. The tournament is powered by Dialog Axiata for the ninth successive year since 2003.
