Rankothge to officiate at Mumbai and Women’s World Cup Sevens

Former Sylvestrian and Kandy SC player Aruna Rankothge will be the only referee from the country to officiate in both the HSBC Asian Sevens at Mumbai (Oct 13 & 14) and Women’s Rugby World Cup Asian Qualifier (Oct 6 & 7)

Rankothge, who counts 17 years in rugby refereeing in Sri Lanka and overseas, is also one of the two referees nominated from Sri Lanka to be in the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) panel. His last assignment was at the Junior Rugby Asiad encounter in Colombo last week. Rankothge recently completed a Level III part-I (In Dubai 2011) and Referees Level III part-II in Manila 2012.

Harry Mason (Singapore), Taizo Hairabayashi (Japan), Azhar Bin Yusof (Singapore), Aruna Krishantha Rankothge (Sri Lanka), Chaitanya Sinh (India) and Aaron Littlewood (Singapore)
Women’s Rugby World Cup Asian Qualifier
