Union Assurance bag first title
View(s):Union Assurance bagged their first MSBA League ‘A’ division title when they made a stunning comeback to defeat DFCC Bank by 55 points to 50 in the men’s final at the Otter Aquatic court on Friday.
At the end of the third quarter, DFCC Bank had the game in their pocket with a 35 to 32 point lead.
However, in the final quarter of the game, Union Assurance piled on a further 23 points, while DFCC were able to advance their score by only 15.
For Union Assurance the pick of the shooters were Roshan Randima and Udayanga Perera with 16 points each.
The best shooters for DFCC Bank were Gayan Meedeniya and Tivanka Perera with 15 each.
Udayanga Perera of Union Assurance was adjudged the man of the final, while Gayan Meedeniya was chosen the man of the tournament
