‘Heroine’ opens reality behind screen
View(s):‘Heroine’, a move that takes the viewers on a voyeuristic journey to see what really goes on behind the closed doors of make up rooms and vanity vans from the Bollywood, now being screened at Gold in Majestic Cinemplex Colombo.

Madur Bhandarkar has denied the reports saying that the movie is a “contemporary film which reveals the underbelly of the movie industry and its well-kept secrets.” Following the success of his earlier film ‘Fashion’ which won 24 awards including Best Actress, Best Film and Best Direction in 2009, ‘Heroine’ has become another out of the box hard hitting and heart warming movie of Bhandarkar.
Based on the life and times of a superstar heroine from the dream factory we call ‘Bollywood’, the film is a daring, shocking, glamorous, scandalous behind the scenes account of the reality behind the world of glitz and glamour that our film stars inhabit. The film will give the movie mad India a chance to go beyond the gorgeous smiles and politically correct quotes, to see what really happens in the lives of India’s sweethearts. The bitching and the politics, the secrets and the lies, the incredible highs of fame and the lonely depths of failure.
Joining Kareena in the stellar cast are Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda and Rakesh Bapat while Shahana Goswami, Divya Dutta, Helen, Shillpi Sharma, Mugdha Godse and Lillete Dubey additionally played in supporting roles.
