Anderson wants KP on India tour
View(s):England fast bowler James Anderson says it would be ‘brilliant’ if batsman Kevin Pietersen could be included in the squad for the tour to India, saying the Three Lions need the Surrey man if they’re to regain their number one Test ranking.
Pietersen has been out of the England fold since July, after being dropped for the third Test against South Africa, following a number of incidents. The straw that broke the camel’s back was sending of text messages to Proteas players during the second Test.
The ECB have since accepted that those messages did not say anything derogatory about themselves or Andrew Strauss, and have given Pietersen a provisional four-month contract, which could see him on the plane to the sub-continent.
The series against the Proteas was a dire one for England as the visitors took the top ranking for themselves, while Pietersen’s absence in Sri Lanka was notable as the England batting line up struggled. -Cricket365
