Gateway celebrates Founder’s day with ‘Harmony in Motion’
View(s):Students of Gateway paid theirheartfelt tribute to its Founder with an evening of music and entertainment on the 4th of October at the Bishops College Auditorium. Gateway College, that stands tall and proud today, with four school campuses in Colombo, Kandy, Negombo and Bambalapitiya, and many other related institutions, sprang from the vision of one man-R.I.T Alles, whom they honour as their Founding Father. On Mr. Alles’ 80th Birthday, Teachers, Parents, Past pupils and the Students of Gateway celebrated his great vision, dedication and indomitable courage in building their great institution.
It has been the tradition at Gateway to celebrate the teachers’ day too along with the Founders day. Speaking of the event, Deputy Chairman, Dr. Harsha Alles mentioned that Gateway has come this far due to the dedication and hard workof all teachers of Gate way, both past and present.
It is our pioneers that havebrought us to where we are in a remarkably short number of years, he said. Thus the choirs of all schools joined to sing praise for all their efforts.
The choirs put in hours of hard work and practice to produce the enthralling concert of harmonious voices.
The past year has seen tremendous improvements – in both the numbers of the choristers and the quality of their performance. The choir of Gateway Achievers – the newest entity of the Gateway family, too participated in this event.
