Yet another grand event at Wesley
View(s):Wesley College Grades 1-3 students invited their grandparents and felicitated them on the 2nd of October. This was done to celebrate world elders day. As always it’s the parents who visit and see their children’s talents and progress this day the grandparents were able to see their little grandchildren’s progress and talents when they come in the grand hall of Wesley.
Over one hundred grandparents gathered at the main gate and they were escorted to the hall in grand style with the junior Hewish Band leading them the Children performed proudly. Wahid Hossen related a story with fine eloquent and Dillon Ganegoda a story in Sinhala.
Speeches were given in English, Sinhala and Tamil. The junior choir performed by singing many songs and the junior western Band and the Eastern band too showed their talent by playing and performing.
This was a grand occasion with the hall being full. The principal of Wesley Dr. Shanthi Mclelland spoke to the elders. Little children gave their grandparents a moments which they themselves had done and the grandparents were overjoyed to receive this.
Lastly the programmes ended with the grandparents too giving a few items.
This event was 1st started in 2010 and the 1st of its kind in the history of Wesley College. ORA-ET LABORA
