Junior Joes make short work of Bens
View(s):St Joseph’s College recorded their second win in the Under 13 All Island Division One Tournament when they defeated St Benedict’s on the first innings at Kotahena.
The Josephian spinners comprising Shehan Rodrigo, Nipun Sumanasinghe and Jehan Fernandopulle accounted for sixteen wickets as they bowled out the host for just 77 runs and 110 runs in the first and second innings.
The Josephians declared on 110 for 9 wickets and were left to get 77 runs for victory in the last mandatory over. All rounder Jehan Daniel gave it a go hitting four sixes, a boundary, and two runs in the six balls as the visitors finished on 30 for no loss and had to be content with a first innings victory.

A poor ground conditions after overnight rain delayed the start by over two hours as the Royal-St Josephs Under 13 cricket encounter ended in a no decision.
