The 36th Annual Mercantile 7-a-side Hockey Tournament conducted by the Mercantile Hockey Association will be held at the P Sara Oval in Colombo today starting from 8.00a.m.

The 21 participating teams have been categorized into five separate divisions where the cream of Sri Lankan talent will be displaying their skills to bring honour to their respective establishments.

The Division ‘A’ segment will be played for the Dennis de Rosayro Trophy which is sponsored by Janashakthi Insurance. Commercial Bank, Hatton National Bank ‘A’, Sampath Bank, HSBC and Seylan Bank will compete in the segment.

Singer ‘A’, Unilever, Commercial Bank ‘B’, HNB ‘B’ and Airports & Aviation will vie for the Singer Trophy from the Division ‘B’ segment. The Division ‘C’ segment will be played for the Lifebuoy Trophy and Browns Group, AWD Group, Singer ‘B’ and Hayleys are the teams in contention. Arpico, Aviva NDB Insurance, Standard Charted Bank and Janashkthi will be the teams in the Division ‘D’ which will be on the hunt for the Edmund H. Cooray Trophy. The Division ‘E’ will see Hilton Colombo, Glaxo Smith Kline and Wso2 competing for the Ceylon Cold Stores trophy. The tournament is sponsored by Brown & Company PLC for the sixth consecutive year.
