The ticket seller
View(s):The ticket seller
The big event is over. Some are still crying on what could have been and some are still trying to fathom out how they failed to make the big bucks out of this contest. Amidst all this controversy a ticket seller has been caught whilst trying to sell tickets way above the fixed prices. This ticket seller says that if there is an inquiry that he will disclose the names behind this caper. The big wigs in the game too are now trying to cover up the event in case their names too crop up in the melee.
Good results
Lady Bug is at it again. This time she says that she is working hard to get a top post at the next big event which is scheduled to be held in Australia in 2015. She has been boasting about her good work at the recently concluded event saying that the organisers are thoroughly happy with the work that she had done and that they had said that a job is assured at the next contest as well. Just wait and see where she ends up.
Beliatta disaster
The national school games held at Beliatta was held at that distant place on the insistence of an official who had promised a good job. Obviously he was trying to get in the books of certain officials to boost his chances in his job. Insiders say that he is on the verge of losing the job he holds and he had volunteered to put his neck out at Beliatta. However the four day meet had been a disaster and those scribes who had been at the event bear witness of it.
When umpire’s word is Not Law
There is a lot of focus on cricket umpires what with all the talk centering on match fixing and what not. Recently at a mercantile meet the officials concerned were introduced with a lot of pomp and glamour over the public address system. However, those who knew the truth were trying their best to stifle their laughter because amongst those who were introduced were some officials who are allegedly involved in the raging controversy. It looks as we can no longer say, ‘Umpire’s Word is Law.’
Scout’s oath
Scouts the world over are famous for the oaths they take before entering the age old movement. Recently at a scouts swimming meet a scout was seen breaking the time honoured law when he gave a wrong statement which saw another being declared the winner. With all the hanky panky entering the sports world we wonder whether being dishonourable has entered into the revered Scouts Movement as well!
Ping pong at midnight
The scene now shifts to a schools TT tournament in the junior category. The contest was held for three days at a venue by the seaside. However the tourney went on past midnight on the third and final day. This inconvenienced parents and the young ping pog players. Ultimately the parents who had come from the outstations had to spend the night at the seaside TT venue and had to leave the place only after dawn. Better planning could have avoided this, say some parents.
