APIIT Tantalize 2012
View(s):Tantalize, the Inter University Talent show organized by the Student Activity Club (SAC) of Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) is back for the 5th consecutive year to harness more talent hidden within the students in the higher education sector in Sri Lanka. Tantalize which has become the most looked forward event by the students in the higher education sector with the participation growing gradually over the last five years saw more than 180 students from 25 different higher education institutes and universities auditioning for a spot in the Grand Finals.
Auditions for Tantalize 2012 were recently at the APIIT City Campus premises as well as at the e Russian Center Auditorium in Colombo. Auditions were held for Solo Signing, Duet Signing, Bands, Solo Instrumental, Group Dancing and Solo Dancing categories where 20 finalists were chosen by a set of proficient judges in the respective categories.

Tantalize 2012 themed “Let the Talent Take Control” in the 5th year will be the biggest Tantalize show ever done in the history of Tantalize. “In terms of size, participants, audience capacity, and as well as entertainment and talent this is sure to be the biggest Tantalize show to be organisedby the SAC” said Mudassir Jabir, the Chairperson of the Tantalize 2012 Organizing Committee comprising of nearly 40 members from APIIT student community.
The ultimate aim in organizing an event such as this is not only to provide an opportunity to university student’s to showcase their talents in the areas of music, dance, etc., but also to instill in them a sense of responsibility to contribute towards the society and its well-being. Each year all proceeds of the event is donated for a worthy cause.This is year too the proceeds will be donated to Colombo North Teaching Hospital.
The Grand Finale of Tantalize 2012 is all set to take place on the 4th of November 2012 at the Musaeus College Auditorium from 5.30pm onwards. Tickets are already on sale and are selling fast. Tickets are priced at Rs.700/- each and are available online on www.ticketslk.com and with all committee members. Tickets can also be purchased at APIIT Campus, Queens Café in Colombo 3, Laughs Supermarket in Havelock Road and Galle Road, Wellawatta, and at Sponge in Colombo 3.
