The Under-15 water polo team of S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia comprehensively beat Royal College at the 21st annual Royal-Thomian water polo encounter, held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Complex recently.

The young Thomians drew first blood when they beat the Royalists to record a first leg score of 14 goals to 2. The boys from Mt. Lavinia continued their great run when they once again outclassed the Royalists in the second leg as well, beating them with a score line of 12 goals to 7. The Thomians comprehensively won the annual clash by a goal aggregate of 26 to 9. The Thomian Under-15 team also won the 39th Sri Lanka Schools Waterpolo Championship. In the traditional encounter the Thomians displayed their supremacy as the team’s skipper Ashane Francis proudly received the Mahinda Liyanage Trophy at the awards ceremony.
