Excellent place to study
Without a doubt I believe it was one of the best decisions I have made. Vitebsk Sate Medical University is an amazing institution with an exceptional course in medicine for a period of six years. The professors are friendly. The hospitals are upto date and also very close to campus. All foreign students have a place in the hostel therefore accommodation is not a problem. But students can also choose to live in apartments. What I liked the most about Vitebsk as a town it is very beautiful and peaceful. Vitebsk Belarus is a calm place and I recommend it to any student looking for quality medical education.

SLMC recognized European Medical degree
Vitebsk State Medical University (VSMU) is one of the most famous government medical universities in Belarus, located in the Eastern part of Europe – an ideal place to live in a good climate and living nature and to acquire a worldwide accepted Medical qualification.
This university has become the prime choice of many students because of its quality education and state of the art facilities provided to the students.
Medical universities should fulfil certain criteria to be fully recognized by the foreign country Medical Councils. The criteria are duration of the program, the curriculum, staff and facilities in the university, teaching hospitals, and the location of the school. Vitebsk State Medical University (VSMU) surpasses all those criteria with flying colors. Further, VSMU has some world class facilities which are highly commendable and not available for students in certain developing countries. In Sri Lanka, SLMC (Sri Lanka Medical Council) is the only body which recognizes the foreign medical degrees and the medical graduates. Its recognition allows the medical graduates to sit for the qualifying examination called ERPM (Examination for Registration to Practice Medicine in Sri Lanka) for them to practice as Medical Doctors in Sri Lanka. Upon return VSMU graduates are eligible to sit for these examinations and are required to fulfill the current SLMC requirements.
VSMU is fully recognized by WHO (World Health Organization), GMC (General Medical Council) – UK, AMC (Australian Medical Council) – Australia, ECFMG (Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) – US and Canada. VSMU graduates are eligible for sit for the respective examinations of such medical systems.
