A prisoner relief fund to help families
View(s):A Prisoner Relief Fund has been established at the Archbishop’s House, Colombo 8 to help those who are unable to pay their fines or compensation.There are quite a number of prisoners who have been ordered to serve further terms of rigorous imprisonment in default of the payment.
Through this mission the Catholic Church hopes to help families of prisoners especially the children with their educational, health and other needs.
Since this facility has to be ongoing, the fund is appealing for donations as and when possible.
