DIMO awarded the highest EM1 recognition by ICTAD
View(s):Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO), one of Sri Lanka’s leading and diversified engineering companies, has been awarded the ‘Electrical & Mechanical 1′ (EM1) recognition in five main categories by Institute for Construction and Development (ICTAD).
ICTAD is the apex accreditation institute for construction and development in the country. The EM1 grading in five categories relates to Refrigeration (RF), Electrical Installations (Low Tension) (EE-LT), Electrical Installation (High Tension) (EE-HT), Extra Low Voltage Installations (Data, Telecommunication and Security Systems) (ELV), Fire Detection and Protection & Suppression (FDPS). DIMO became the only Sri Lankan organization to receive this coveted recognition, a statement from DIMO said.
Some of the landmark construction projects partnered by DIMO in the recent past include handling total lighting solutions at R. Premadasa and Pallekalle International Cricket Stadiums; installing the country’s largest building management solutions system at the newly built Sri Lanka Customs building at Colombo and supply and installing the state of the art networked fire detection system at the upcoming Mattala (Hambantota) International Airport.
“From a company known for automobiles, DIMO today has diversified into many other spheres of engineering – Medical Engineering, Building Management Systems, Power Engineering, Material Handling, Storage and Warehouse solutions, Power Tools, Agricultural Equipment, Lighting Solutions, Energy Audits, Power Systems, Refrigeration, Ship Building and Repairing are some of the areas into which DIMO has entered during the past few decades,” the company statement added.
