The Management and Science University Knowledge Centre had recently organized a workshop for PhD students at the MSU Colombo campus. The workshop covered a range of topics which are important components to any research proposal.

This workshop was conducted by Prof. W. lndralal De Silva, Senior Professor of Demography and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo. A long-time professor at the University of Colombo, Professor Indralal also serves in several government institutions, NGOs and private organizations. He has also published over 60 research articles in reputed local and international journals. His research interests lie in a variety of spheres which include fertility, mortality, migration, ageing, population and labour force projections, family change and reproductive health in developing countries with special emphasis on Sri Lanka.

During the workshop, Kaushalya Yatigammana, a Lecturer attached to the Department of Commerce and Financial Management of the University of Kelaniya, presented a paper titled “Postgraduate students’ perceived E learning acceptance: Frameworkof Extended Technology Acceptance Model.”

The MSU Knowledge Centre ( MKC) is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring all R&D and consultancy activities between MSU and all partner universities in Sri Lanka. The Centre will be housed   at the Centre for Research and Postgraduate Programmes in MSU.

The Centre promotes a strong research and consultancy culture among its partner universities with an aim at generating quality research and business development outputs. The Centre will also provide effective support and services to the research community in Sri Lanka, thus further enhancing the qualities of the postgraduate programmes, research and consultancies.

The MSU Knowledge Centre works closely with the faculties and academics of MSU and its partner universities in Sri Lanka.   It also associates itself with the industries and other institutions to promote research, academic and entrepreneurship excellence.

The Management and Science University has been rated as an ‘Excellent University’ status by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia.

It is also an internationally accredited institution by the Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC), UK and the Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST 21) from Japan.
