Deputy Post Master General Rajitha Ranasinghe presents her with a trophy

A Post Mistress of Kandy Post Office Mrs Subhadra Boradeniya won a Gold Medal at the 17th Asain Masters Athletic Championship meet held in Taipei City Taiwan in the 4 X 400 metre event.

Her performance at the at the 26th Sri Lanka Masters (Open) Athletic Championships held at Sugathadasa Stadium in May this Year merited her selection for the Taipei games.

Mrs. Boradeniya told “the Sunday Times “that she has been an athlete even during her school days and she was the Sports Captain at Hemmathagama Devika Balika Vidyalaya.. She also said that she used to train during her free time and keep herself occupied in Athletics.

A reception was held at the Kandy General Post Office by her colleagues and she was presented with a Trophy by the Deputy Post Master General (Central) Rajitha K. Ranasinghe and the event was organised by Chief Post Master of the Kandy Post Office G.G. Ranjith Silva.
