Home-bound lady doc goes missing
View(s):Police yesterday were searching for a lady doctor who went missing without trace at Galle, while returning to her Hikkaduwa home from work at the Matara Hospital on Friday evening.
According to police, she is 32-year-old Erandi Kulatunga, an anesthetic attached to Matara Hospital.
The last known whereabouts of the doctor was shortly before dusk on Friday, when she telephoned her husband, a serving army doctor, to say that she would be late, as there was a traffic build up near the Galle cement factory.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police are also hunting for the killers of a doctor’s wife found strangled to death at her home in Deniyaya.
The victim, D.N. Suneetha, a mother of three, was the wife of Deniyaya District Medical Officer Dr. P. Rankaduwa.
The motive for the killing is yet to be established, and the victim was apparently alone, at the time of the incident, according to police.
