Virtusa, an US-based IT company, which develops software in Sri Lanka, recently announced that it has been recognised as a key research and development (R&D) service provider in the “Global R&D Service Providers (GSPR) Rating 2012” issued by management consultancy Zeal-in-Innovation (Zinnov). Further, Virtusa also said that it had been recognised in the areas of cloud and enterprise mobility, which also complemented the company’s previous inclusion in the “Software Vendors (ISV) – Enterprise Software category”.

Quoted in the company announcement, Frank Palermo, SVP – global technical solutions group at Virtusa, stated; “Enterprise Mobility is an area that is rapidly expanding and in order to reap the benefits of mobile, organisations are increasingly looking to partners who can support their fast-evolving needs. Our industry leading expertise in mobile enables us to demonstrate leadership and position Virtusa as the best partner to execute such programs.”

Virtusa’s announcement also elaborated that it was singled out for “its deep expertise across multiple mobile platforms and devices, its specialised Enterprise Mobility capability in building Mobile [Line of Business] applications for multiple verticals and for its accelerators, strong system integration and user experience design capabilities”.

It was also indicated that “Virtusa assists clients to develop a proper mobile strategy and roadmap and to handle specialised development, testing and production rollouts associated with these solutions. Virtusa has expertise in mobility strategy and consulting, usability and design, architecture and development, platform assurance and innovation and certification lab”.
