BSc. Engineering degrees from prestigeous AIT

Degrees in Environmental engineering and Bio systems engineering it is heartening to note that AIT has opened the doors for those students who have sat for A. Levels in bio science stream to become professionals in the respective fields of study.
Already around 150 Sri Lankan students in two batches are studying at AIT in the 3rd and 4th years of the degree courses having completed their first two years of study at South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM), Malabe which is AIT’s local partner. SAITM provides the undergraduate (UG) program the necessary infrastructure in par with AIT standards and boasts of a faculty which maintains highest academic standards as stipulated by AIT. It is noteworthy that academics of SAITM faculty of engineering consist of well qualified post graduates from highly acclaimed universities around the world, with 90% of them being PhD holders. This include a strong fulltime staff and a selection of highly respected visiting professors and senior lecturers from state universities. The training imparted to students by these AIT endorsed academia is highly appreciated by the professionals in the engineering industry circles who are impressed by the knowledge level, standards displayed and the work ethics of SAITM/AIT UG’s at industrial training.
The programme consisting of numerous industry visits, guest lectures and demonstration tours ensure that all students are smoothly transferred to AIT after successfully completing the first two years where AIT provides dormitory facilities within the campus premises. It is indeed a tremendous acievement by SAITM faculty of engineering that all the transferred students doing extremely well with 20 of them securing scholarships based on merit on exceptional academic achievements.
Currently over 250 UG’s are studying at SAITM of which 150 are to be transferred in August 2013. Enrolments are now on for the 7th intake to commence in January 2013 who will graduate as BSc. Engineers in 2016.
