View(s):The kite
The kite is a homemade toy. It is made with a light framework covered with coloured tissue papers.
There are different kinds of kites such as snakes and peacocks. We can see a lot of kite designs at Galle Face, Colombo. There we can buy readymade kites too. It has a long beautiful tail. The tail helps to maintain the balance when it flies in the sky. Children enjoy flying kites.

I met a rowing legend
I went for the Royal – Thomian Regatta with my parents, my brother and sister, on Saturday
October 27, 2012 at the Colombo Rowing Club.
I met Mahe Drysdale of New Zealand there. He is the World five time Olympic Rowing Champion. He won the Gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. He is 6 feet 7 inches tall and likes to eat broccoli.
I took many photographs with him. He also autographed a t-shirt for me. It was a very memorable day for everyone there, especially me.

My doll
My favourite doll is Lola. She has lovely blond hair up to her knees. Lola has a beautiful red dress with
matching red high heels. I play lots of Barbie games with Lola.
I got Lola as a gift from my cousin sister Lishendri. I have many other dolls but Lola has become my favourite doll because of her pretty face. Once I had to take a toy for my elocution exam to talk about it. So I chose Lola to go with me. Lola and I are like best friends. She will be my favourite doll forever. I love Lola very much.

An accident I met with
It was on August 6 that we embarked to Germany to experience the enigmatic features of the country. Soon after we got there we remained at the rest house and the following day we went to explore the country.
We went along the highway.
We were on our way for miles and my father was driving carefully until a motorcyclist popped into our path making both my father and himself confused. Both of them were driving rapidly as it was a highway. Everybody was in confusion because there was a massive bus behind our car.
We were desperate, especially my father who was trying his best to turn the care but fate was against us.
The three vehicles collided with each other. We crashed and the last thing I remember is that my small brother was thrown away from the car.
Fortunately everyone was conscious except for my poor brother who had a serious crack on his leg. After a test it was proved that the motorcyclist had been drunk while driving. Somehow with great effort the doctor’s brought my brother’s conscious back. After waiting a couple of days we discharged my brother and went back to spend the remaining day joyfully.

Space
Space is the surrounding of the earth. Earth is the only planet that had living beings. Earth is
situated in our Solar System. A solar system is a set of planets. Our solar system is divided into two parts. They are the inner planets and the outer planets.
The inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Our solar system is situated in the Milky Way galaxy. A galaxy is a group of stars, dust and dark matter held together by gravity. Pluto is a dwarf planet in our solar system. A dwarf planet is smaller than planets but bigger than comets. The largest volcano in our solar system is Olympus Mons.
It is on Mars. The first living being which was sent into space was a dog called Laika. The second living being which was sent into space was a monkey. The first human being who went to space was Yuri Gagarin. His first words were, “I see Earth, it is so beautiful.”
The first person who set foot on the moon was an American Astronaut called Neil Armstrong.
One day if I get a chance, I also will go to space.
