Global Commerce quiz competition on Dec. 12

More than 40 teams have registered to compete in this year’s Global Commerce Quiz C to be held on December 12 at the Taj Samudra Hotel. Winners will receive the prestigious Global Commerce challenge trophy plus a cash price.

The event, held for the first time last year, is conducted by the Sri Lanka branch of the International Quizzing Association (IQA), on behalf of the Shippers’ Academy Colombo (SAC) and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) for the Governors’ cup. Last year there were teams from India, Bangladesh, Maldives and Pakistan central banks, too.

The 2011 challenge saw Seylan Bank team emerge as winners and secure the Governors challenge trophy.
