Kingsbury replaces Ceylon Continental

Ceylon Continental Hotel, which underwent a US$ 18 million refurbishment, opened this week under a new name -‘Kingsbury’. Officials from the Hayleys Group, which owns the property, said the name is derived from the Saxon Chinesburie meaning 'royal fortified house' or 'Kings Fort' and depicts royal splendour, magnificence and majesty, officials said.
